At Studio Bakery, we’ve never been ones to play it safe with flavour.
If you’ve ever browsed our range, you’ll know we like to keep things interesting. One week it might be rich, chocolate-loaded indulgence. The next, something nostalgic that takes you straight back to school cake days. And sometimes, it’s something completely unexpected that just… works.
That constant sense of experimentation is at the heart of what we do. It’s how some of our best-loved cakes and traybakes have come to life, and why there’s always something new to discover when you visit us.
Why We Love Limited Edition Cake Flavours
Being a small, family-run bakery gives us something special: freedom.
We’re not tied to big production lines or fixed menus. Instead, we bake in small batches, which means we can try new ideas, test flavour combinations, and follow ideas that can lead to something brilliant.
That’s where our limited edition cake flavours come in.
They give us space to play. To take a classic and give it a twist. To lean into bold, indulgent combinations. Or to bring back a bit of nostalgia in a way that feels fresh, exciting, and just a little bit indulgent.
One week, it might be something rich and chocolatey, layered high and unapologetically decadent. The next, it could be a flavour that reminds you of childhood treats, birthday parties, or something your mum used to bake on a Sunday afternoon.
It keeps things exciting. For us, and for you.
You get something new to try. We get to keep creating, improving, and doing what we love most – baking cakes that feel special.
But as much as we love limited editions, we started to notice something…
When “Limited Edition” Isn’t Enough
Over time, certain flavours started to stand out.
Not just because they sold well, but because of how people reacted to them. The messages we’d receive. The comments you’d leave. The way certain bakes seemed to stick in people’s minds long after they’d disappeared from the shop.
We’d see the same questions again and again:
“Is the Peppermint Matilda coming back?”
“Please tell me you’re making cake tubs again.”
“I need that yule log on my table next Christmas.”
And honestly? We didn’t blame you.
Some cake flavours aren’t just nice to try once. They’re the ones you think about days later. The ones you wish you’d ordered again. The ones you tell your friends about and then realise… they’re already gone.
That’s when we realised something important.
Limited edition doesn’t always have to mean “one and done”.
Sometimes, it just means “goodbye for now”.
Introducing: The Hall of Fame
So, we created something to give those standout flavours the recognition they deserve. Our Hall of Fame.
It’s where our most-loved limited edition cakes live on – not on the menu, but not forgotten either. Think of it as a place for the flavours that made an impression. The ones that got people talking, sharing, and coming back for “just one more slice”.
Instead of disappearing completely, they earn their spot.
You can scroll through, revisit old favourites, and maybe even spot the one you’re still thinking about.
It’s a bit like a greatest hits album. But for cake.
And the best part? It’s not just about looking back.
You Choose What Comes Back
Every so often, we open up the Hall of Fame for something a little more exciting: a vote.
This is where you come in.
Instead of us deciding what to bake, we hand it over to you. You get to choose which flavour deserves another moment in the spotlight. Which one should return for a limited run. Which one gets a second chance to be baked, boxed, and delivered straight to your door.
And here’s the thing… sometimes those “limited” returns don’t stay so limited.
Take our Cookies & Cream Matilda, for example. What started as a limited edition quickly proved it had staying power. It was such a hit that it went on to launch in Tesco stores, bringing that once-limited flavour to an even bigger audience.
Not bad for a second chance.
Don’t Miss the Next Vote
If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s this: the best cake flavours never really disappear.
They just wait for the right moment to come back.
If you want to be first to know when voting opens (and first in line when a favourite comes back), make sure you’re signed up to our newsletter. That’s where we share new releases, returning flavours, and a few sweet surprises along the way.
Because when it comes to cake, second chances can be pretty delicious.
